Critically acclaimed DJ Rekha embarked on a new chapter of her career with the release of her debut album DJ Rekha Presents Basement Bhangra. During her live set, DJ Rekha invites listeners to go with her into a world that merges the traditional Bhangra music of South Asia and the Hip-Hop beats of today. Her performances offer a journey into the infectious, expanding South Asian dance music genre known as Bhangra. Audiences are able to experience some of the music that is heard at DJ Rekha's own internationally renowned event called Basement Bhangra, the dance party that has taken place monthly for the past decade at Sounds of Brazil, in New York.
